Sound data for smart decisions

Shippers like to know where their containerized cargo is and when it will arrive at POD. Unfortunately, they are often at sea as to its exact location. Is the container still somewhere on the high seas? Will it arrive at the port of destination at the scheduled time? And if not, how will this impact ongoing transshipment and supply chain reliability?

The problem is that container shipping has no tracking or reporting structure for raw EDI data and no unified data format across 20 different shipping lines with 20 different EDI connections. Therefore, current tracking methods involve a lot of time-intensive maintenance for shippers worldwide. Ocean Insights offers shippers one API-based data feed covering all major shipping lines, which is easy to handle and merge with their own data infrastructure.

Ocean Insights’ two products, Container Track & Trace (CTT) and Container Sailing Schedules (CSS), were the first to combine container liner schedules and carriers’ container tracking information with neutral AIS vessel tracking data. This has taken the planning and monitoring of container shipping operations to a new level.

This new level now has a new look. At Transport Logistic 2019 Ocean Insights is launching its new corporate design with a rebranded website, trade fair booth, brochures, etc. As is fitting for a company focused on making container tracking more transparent, the key visual is made up of many boxes, either in corporate blue or white, with one in stand-out yellow to symbolize the exact location of a customer’s container. That is the box that counts; the box Ocean Insights tracks and traces; the box whose movements are made transparent for the customer.

Josh Brazil, Ocean Insights’ COO: “We chose Transport Logistics for the launch of our rebranding because it is our most important show this year. And we are convinced that our new look will forcefully put across our message that customers can improve their visibility in real time by using our tools.”
