Conrad expands its automation range with components from Phoenix Contact

Comprehensive automation solutions from a single source

For Conrad Electronic, the year 2020 is all about automation technology and the continuous expansion of its product range. The Conrad Sourcing Platform is now being expanded to include even more products from Phoenix Contact so that B2B customers can obtain as many components as possible for their automation solutions from a single source.

"The new products from Phoenix Contact in our range include PLCnext Technology, the power supplies of the UNO, TRIO and QUINT POWER series as well as the two Ethernet switches, FL SWITCH SFNB 5TX and FL SWITCH SFNB 8TX, with which we are further enhancing our product range in the industrial automation sector,” says Michael Schlagenhaufer, Senior Director Product Management Core Electronics & Automation at Conrad Electronic.

PLCnext Technology is a unique, open ecosystem for modern automation and is therefore able to meet all the requirements of the IoT world. The combination of an open control platform, modular engineering software and systemic cloud integration enables easy adaptation to changing requirements and efficient use of existing and future software services.

When choosing PLCnext Technology, users not only benefit from PLC-typical real-time performance and data consistency even for high-level languages and model-based code, but also from a high level of adaptability due to the fast and easy integration of open source software, apps and future technologies. Further advantages include intelligent networking through cloud connectivity and integration of current and future communication standards, as well as rapid application development. Several developers can work independently in different programming languages using their preferred programming tools.

The AXC F 2152 starter kit with pre-installed components is available to test the functional principle and handling of PLCnext Technology in smaller applications. Another innovation based on PLCnext Technology is the AXC F 2152 controller for the Axioline I/O system. The controller is fast, robust and simple as well as consistently tailored for maximum performance, easy handling and use in harsh industrial environments. PROFINET support, connection to PROFICLOUD and support for numerous protocols such as http, https, FTP, SNTP, SNMP, SMTP, SQL, MySQL and DCP are among the advantages of the AXC F 2152 controller. Up to 63 AXIO I/O modules can be connected directly.

Choosing power supplies from the QUINT, TRIO and UNO series means that applications receive power for maximum system availability. Like all POWER products from Phoenix Contact, the functionality and design of the power supplies are optimally tailored to the requirements of different industries. Depending on the chosen product, single-phase and three-phase power supplies of the QUINT POWER series are equipped with the unique SFB technology (Selective Fuse Breaking technology six times the rated current for 12 ms) and can trip standard circuit breakers reliably and quickly. Faulty current paths are switched off selectively, faults are limited, and operation can continue in the important parts of the system.

Industrial Ethernet products from Phoenix Contact are known for their easy integration into the automation infrastructure. Unmanaged or administration-free Industrial Ethernet switches, such as the new FL SWITCH SFNB 5TX and FL SWITCH SFNB 8TX in Conrad’s range, all come with standard functions, a variable number of ports and with various designs. Thanks to their high interference immunity, robust metal housing and wide temperature range, the switches are suitable for industrial use and continuous operation.
